Release Notes: 2026.1.1

January 27, 2026
4 min read

Automated GitHub deployments, API keys, server groups, PII logging, new admin dashboards, and enhanced UI for better cloud management.

While I went through and removed bugs, I likely introduced many more... As always, thank you for testing Carpathian Cloud. I'm excited to see how users are interacting with the platform. What started as a passion project has been growing quickly. Update releases will be a little slower in the coming months due to a military obligation, but I'll do my best to continue adding features and fixing bugs as users find them. -Sam

Here's a rundown of what's included in the 2026.1.1 update.

Automated Code Deployments & CI/CD Integration

One of the biggest additions in this release is our automated deployment system. You can now connect your GitHub repositories directly to your Carpathian spark servers and deploy code automatically. Configure custom build commands, set environment variables, and define deployment hooks all from your dashboard.

API Key Management & Programmatic Access

We've launched a API key management system that enables programmatic access to the Carpathian platform. Generate API keys with granular permission controls: create read-only keys for monitoring and reporting, or full-access keys for automation and infrastructure management. Each API key can be restricted by IP address for enhanced security, ensuring only authorized systems can access your infrastructure.

API keys can be scoped to specific organizations and server groups, giving you fine-grained control over what each key can access. This is perfect for integrating Carpathian into your existing DevOps workflows, CI/CD pipelines, or custom automation scripts. The new API v1 endpoints provide RESTful access to deployments, server metrics, and infrastructure management functions. Read Documentation

Server Groups & Infrastructure Organization

Managing multiple cloud servers just got easier with server groups. Organize your infrastructure into logical collections based on application, environment, team, or any other criteria that makes sense for your organization. Server groups allow you to perform batch operations across multiple servers simultaneously, share deployment configurations, and manage access controls at the group level.

Assign API keys to specific server groups to enable external services or team members to access only the servers they need. This organizational feature makes it much easier to scale your infrastructure management as your fleet of servers grows.

Privacy, Security & Compliance Features

For organizations handling sensitive user data, we've implemented PII (Personally Identifiable Information) access logging. Every time an administrator accesses sensitive user information, the system creates an immutable audit trail recording who accessed what data, when, and from where. This comprehensive logging helps organizations meet regulatory compliance requirements for GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other data protection regulations. This is presently limited to our administrative access of users, but will be rolled out gradually across the platform.

We've also enhanced access controls across the platform with improved permission systems, IP-based restrictions for API keys, and comprehensive security event logging for suspicious activities and locked accounts.

Enhanced User Experience & Interface Updates

Server management has been significantly enhanced with new server detail pages that provide comprehensive information about each cloud server. You can now view detailed metrics, manage deployments, configure settings, and monitor performance all from a single interface. The server provisioning flow has been improved with better error handling, clearer status indicators, and more helpful feedback throughout the process.

We've added an internal documentation browser that lets you access platform guides, API references, and technical documentation without leaving the dashboard. New documentation includes comprehensive guides for automated deployments, PII access logging, and API integration patterns.

Account Management & Billing Improvements

The account settings interface has been enhanced with improved organization and better visual hierarchy. The billing dashboard now provides clearer visualization of your current plan, usage metrics, and upgrade options.

Security settings have been enhanced with detailed activity logging, showing you exactly when and how your account has been accessed.

Team management has been streamlined with better invitation flows and improved permission controls. The organization switcher makes it easier to navigate between multiple organizations if you manage infrastructure for different teams or clients.

Developer Experience & API Enhancements

Beyond API keys, we've introduced a new public API endpoint that provide programmatic access to spark server functionality.

The actions it performs now is somewhat limited, but expected to grow in the coming months.

Bug Fixes & Performance Improvements

This release includes numerous bug fixes and performance enhancements.

We've enhanced server state management, improved error handling across authentication flows, and optimized database queries for better performance.

Spam detection has been enhanced to reduce fraudulent signups, and provisioning reliability has been improved across all regions.

WebSocket and SSE (Server-Sent Events) connection handling is now more robust.
