Our data centers in Des Moines, Iowa
Carpathian owns and operates its facilities in Des Moines, with redundant power, cooling, and network. Deploy a cloud virtual machine, take a dedicated bare metal server, or ship us hardware you already own and we will colocate it.
Production and recovery, one network
One site carries production and another stands behind it for recovery. They run the same hardware and the same network, so a failover does not change how your workload behaves.
Des Moines, production
In service since 2024.
- Primary Production Environment
- Power and Storm Tolerant
- 24/7 Remote Monitoring
Des Moines, recovery

Inside the facility
A data center is only as good as its least interesting parts: power that does not blink, air that stays cold, and a network with more than one way out of the building.
Both of our facilities carry redundant power and cooling and a 99.5% uptime SLA. Racks are monitored around the clock, and when something needs a hand on it, that hand belongs to somebody on our team rather than a contractor who has never seen your cabinet.
Iowa is a deliberate choice. It sits outside hurricane and wildfire zones, the grid is stable, and the fiber corridors through the middle of the country give us short, direct paths to both coasts.
- PowerDual utility feeds through a transfer switch, battery backup, and a standby generator
- CoolingRedundant units sized so a single failure never takes the room offline
- NetworkMultiple carriers with independent paths out of the building
- AccessLocked cabinets, logged entry, and cameras covering every row
Three ways to put hardware to work
Colocation, cloud, and bare metal all run in the same buildings, on the same network, with the same team behind them. What changes is who owns the hardware and how quickly you can change it.
Ship us your hardware. We rack it, power it, cool it, and connect it. You keep the machines and the root password.
- Your hardware, our building
- Remote hands on request
- Metered or committed bandwidth
A dedicated physical machine with nothing else running beside it, so performance stays predictable and no other tenant can affect what your workload gets.
- Single tenant hardware
- Custom disk and memory builds
- Private networking between nodes
Virtual machines you can create, resize, and destroy from the dashboard or the API in minutes.
- Provisioned in minutes
- Snapshots and backups
- Pay for what you run
Close to the middle of the country
Des Moines sits near the geographic center of the United States, which keeps round trip times short for customers on either coast without paying for a presence in both.
If your users are somewhere we do not reach well yet, tell us. We publish where we operate today and we are steadily adding to it.
- You keep root on anything you own
- No lock-in contract to leave
- Hardware failures replaced without a ticket queue
- One team answering for the building and the network
Questions we get asked
Where are Carpathian data centers located?
What uptime do you commit to?
Can I colocate my own hardware?
What is the difference between colocation, bare metal, and cloud?
Is my data kept in the United States?
How do I get remote hands on my equipment?
Need something the standard plans do not cover?
Custom builds, dedicated cabinets, private networking, and hybrid setups all start with a conversation. Tell us what you are running and we will tell you what it takes.
