Samuel Malkasian is the founder and lead cloud architect at Carpathian, where he designed the platform's core architecture along with a range of client enterprise systems and open-source tools for AI workflows and integration. He serves as a Cyber Warfare Officer in the U.S. Army and has a background in machine learning, data science, and LLM architecture. He is currently focused on building AI infrastructure that is secure, efficient, and sustainable.
Since our last release notes we've shipped an AI app builder, a link shortener, private tunnels to your other clouds, monitoring and automatic restart for your servers, application logging, and a chat that can draw, write files, and keep working after you close the tab.
App Builder: describe it, and an AI agent builds it
App Builder turns a plain description into a working website. You tell an agent what you want, it writes a plan, and you watch it check off each step as it creates the files.
Upload brand notes, copy, or specs, and the agent works from them.
Preview the result right in the dashboard at desktop, tablet, and phone widths. The preview is sealed off from the network and from your account, so nothing the code does can reach either.
Put several agents on the job at once, each on the model you pick, and let an agent bring in helpers for bigger pieces of the work. You see what every agent spends while it works.
Edit the code yourself in the built-in editor, with syntax colors, files, and folders. Create, rename, and delete anything.
Every change, the agent's or yours, lands in a history with a diff per file, and any of it can be undone.
Download the whole app as a zip whenever you like.
Each step an agent takes is billed as AI usage at the model's token rate. App Builder writes the site and stops there: it doesn't run server code or publish anything for you. Download the files and put them on a Spark server or any host you like.
Link Shortener
Short links now live on Carpathian. Shorten any URL on cpthn.ai, or put your links on your own domain once you verify you own it with a DNS record, and track how many times each link gets clicked.
Any public file in Object Storage gets a Copy short URL action.
One flat monthly price for the service, with each custom domain added on top. Links on cpthn.ai cost nothing extra.
Private Link: connect your other cloud
Private Link joins a Carpathian VLAN to a network you run somewhere else, like a VPC in another cloud, over an encrypted WireGuard tunnel. Servers on both sides reach each other by private address, and neither side becomes reachable from the internet. Your side needs a public address for the tunnel to dial; ours doesn't listen for anything.
Spark Servers
Each server now shows its CPU, memory, network, and disk history over the last hour, day, or week, along with its uptime.
If a server stops due to errors, you get a notice. Turn on automatic restart and it comes back on its own.

Creating a server only offers the sizes your region can build right now, so you don't pick one that can't be made.
Enable services yourself
The Services page lets you turn Carpathian services on and off without asking us. Each service has its own page with what it does and its full rate card, and anything it depends on is enabled alongside it. If something you're using still needs a service, the page tells you exactly what before it lets you disable it.
Logging
Send logs from your own applications to Carpathian, wherever they run.
Each log service gets its own Object Storage bucket and its own key, both created for you, and your logs are stored as files you own.
You see the price before you create a service. It's billed as storage, with nothing charged per log.
Set how much a service can send per minute, and pause it without losing anything.
The service's Overview shows incoming events in a searchable window you can filter by level.
A step-by-step guide to sending logs, with examples, is linked from the Logging page.
Object Storage
See how many people open and download the files in a bucket, which files they read most, and where they come from.
Carpathian AI chat
The chat at carpathian.ai/chat picked up a lot over the last two months.
Images in the conversation. Ask for a picture, or type /imagine with a description, and it's generated right in the thread.
Documents you can download. Ask the chat to write a document and the file appears under the reply, ready to download.
Instant or thinking. Choose whether a model answers right away or thinks first, and how deeply.
Replies that finish without you. Leave the page and the answer keeps being written. A dot marks the chat until you read it, and you can ask to be notified when a long reply is ready.
Attach files and pictures. Drag a file onto any chat, no agent needed. Ask about a picture, send several at once, and reuse files you've uploaded before. Signed out, you can attach up to five files to a conversation.
Your chat follows you. A conversation you started before signing up comes with your new account, files included.
A fuller view of the conversation. A meter shows how full the conversation is against what the model can hold. Summarize a long chat and it carries on in a fresh conversation, with the original kept in full.
Larger models. Stronger models are now offered at a per-token price, with the rate shown beside the model picker. The free models stay free.
Type /usage to see your usage, your balance, and what the current model costs.
Replies start sooner, because the model stays loaded between turns.
AI keys, usage, and balance
Artificial Intelligence opens on your keys and every request they make. Each key draws its own traffic on a shared timeline, and proxy keys sit beside your managed keys.
Filter requests by outcome, source address, flagged content, or slow calls, and open any request to read what was sent and what came back. Access is granted per role, and every reveal is recorded.
Change a key's rate limit, token budget, and firewall from the same page.
Buy AI balance in packs and turn on automatic refill, so a busy key doesn't run dry overnight.
Your AI balance, chat spending, and image spending now live on the Billing page, and your bill itemizes AI usage the way it itemizes cloud services.
Software development
Software development projects now run in a full workspace with a board, backlog, sprints, epics, a roadmap, and reports, so you can request work and follow it all the way through.
Fixes
API requests to reasoning models return their answer instead of an empty reply, and follow the reasoning effort you send.
Buying AI credit adds it to your balance once.
Pictures you attach are read properly, and a photo with no writing in it no longer arrives with invented text.
Requests stopped by an address rule or a spend cap say so, instead of showing an internal code, and filtering by those results works.
When a chat can't start, it tells you why, and it moves a conversation off a retired model instead of refusing.
The ingest URL on a log service points at the right place, so logs sent to it are accepted.
Add funds opens card setup when you have no card on file.
