This release includes major design overhauls across the platform, a refined mobile experience, cloud server upgrade capabilities, improvements to the publications page, improved pricing page, and enhanced security across the platform.
A huge thank you to our beta testers who have been putting the platform through its paces. Your feedback helped us identify and resolve several critical bugs and race conditions that were causing cloud server deployments to fail. We've addressed the majority of these issues, and while we may have introduced a few new quirks along the way, the platform is substantially more stable than before.
Publications
Redesigned the public publications page (again). Articles are much easier to find and more optimized for mobile.
Pricing
We further refined the public pricing for the cloud instances (now called Spark Instances). You can more easily see exactly how much your machine configurations and upgrades are going to cost. We also added an explanation for how we price permanent upgrades https://carpathian.ai/pricing
Sponsorships
We introduced a new sponsorship program for open source contributors
Security & Infrastructure
Security improvements to the hypervisors and cloud VMs
Resolved issues with the automated infrastructure provisioning
Enhanced user security with more granular permissions (superusers will update automatically)
Design & User Experience
Large overhaul of the design across platform to improve the visual consistency
Many of the pages have been improved for mobile and the dashboard sidebar collapse function has been refined
Redesigned the dashboard to display expanded statistics and metrics for better visibility into infrastructure usage and performance
Redesigned server cards with improved layouts and information hierarchy so it's a lot easier to manage and monitor virtual machines
Performance & Functionality
Refined the live updates on the cloud page so users can see as-they-happen changes to their instance metrics and statuses
We FINALLY added VM upgrade capabilities! Users can now scale their virtual machine resources up or down based on changing workload requirements
Fixed some critical bugs in the provision server and webserver launch processes that were causing deployment failures
Added some bootstrapping tasks for new users to improve instance deployment times
We added more strict bot detection to the domain parking and refined the tracking and payout functionality
In Development
Teams are almost finished – Users will be able to add new members to their organizations with granular permission control
Reseller accounts are being tested. We're experimenting with allowing users to create reseller accounts so that they can host and manage client resources
More beta tester slots will be created at the launch of 11.4
