If you signed up for Carpathian and the verification code never showed up, the most likely reason is that your email provider stopped it before it reached your inbox. Every account email we send goes out automatically, the moment you do the thing that triggers it. When one doesn't arrive, it's being held, filtered, or dropped on the receiving end.
The most common case by far is a school or work address. A lot of universities and companies only accept mail from senders they've approved, and everything else disappears without a bounce or a warning. If you're using a student email and nothing from us has ever arrived, that's almost certainly what's going on, and the fix is to sign up with a personal address instead.
Which emails does Carpathian send?
Our account emails come from carpathian.ai addresses, most of them from info@carpathian.ai under the name Carpathian Bot. Search your mailbox for "carpathian" before anything else.
These are the ones you're most likely to be waiting on:
Verify your Carpathian account: the code you enter to finish signing up.
Password Reset Request: the link to set a new password.
Login Verification Code: the code sent at sign-in when you've turned on email two-factor.
Security Verification Code: sent before a sensitive change to your account, so we know it's you.
New Login Detected: a notice about a sign-in to your account.
Someone tried to sign up with your email: sent when a new signup uses an address that already has an account.
Team invitations, invoice receipts, and payment reminders, once you're using the platform.
If none of these have ever reached you, the signup code included, we have no way to contact you at that address. You'll need a different email to use Carpathian.
Why do school and work accounts block our emails?
Organizations run incoming mail through filters their IT department controls. Student accounts are often set to accept mail only from inside the school, or from a short list of approved senders. When our message is rejected that way, it doesn't come back to us as an error we can act on, it just never shows up for you. We can't see it on our side and we can't change your school's settings.
You have two options:
Sign up with a personal address you control, like Gmail, Outlook.com, iCloud, or Proton.
If you need to use the school or work address, ask your IT team whether they block outside senders and whether they'll allow mail from carpathian.ai. Some will, plenty won't for student accounts.
Have you checked spam, junk, and quarantine?
Filters sometimes misread a verification code as something suspicious, especially on a first email from a new sender.
Gmail: check Spam, then the Promotions and Updates tabs.
Outlook and Hotmail: check Junk Email.
Microsoft 365 work or school accounts: your admin may hold messages in a quarantine you can't see from your inbox. Look for a quarantine notice email, or ask IT to release it.
If you find one of ours in spam, mark it as not spam so the next one lands where it should.
Is the email address on your account spelled right?
A typo sends your code to someone else's inbox, or nowhere at all. An unfinished signup under a mistyped address doesn't block you, so sign up again with the correct one.
Did you resend the code?
Each resend replaces the previous code, so an older email sitting in your inbox won't work anymore. Use the newest one. You can request up to five codes a day, and a code stops working after five wrong tries, at which point you'll need a fresh one.
Got "You already have an account" instead of a code?
That email means the address already belongs to a Carpathian account, so no second account was made. Sign in, or reset your password if you don't remember it. We send that notice at most once an hour, so trying again right away won't produce another one.
When should you switch to a different email?
If you've checked spam and quarantine, confirmed the address, and asked for a fresh code, and still nothing arrives, use another address. Everything about your account runs through email: sign-in codes, password resets, security alerts, and billing. An inbox that can't receive our mail would lock you out the first time you forget your password, and we'd have no way to reach you about it.
