People of the Internet: Why We're Sponsoring Our Own Podcast

People of the Internet started as a way to connect with other entrepreneurs and creatives building things online. Now, as Carpathian launches its formal sponsorship program, supporting this kind of community-driven content is a natural extension of our commitment to fostering innovation and connection in the technology space.

People of the Internet: Why We're Sponsoring Our Own Podcast | Carpathian Publications

When I launched People of the Internet back in late 2023, I was in the thick of building Carpathian and honestly just trying to figure things out as an entrepreneur. I wanted to connect with other people who were building something as well. Regardless if it was a startup, a creative project, or just doing interesting work in the tech space. The podcast became my excuse to reach out to fascinating people online and actually have real conversations with them.

Eight episodes in, I've talked to cybersecurity engineers at Target, Army veterans turned hackers, futurists exploring AI's impact on humanity, entrepreneurs who transformed their careers through LinkedIn, chiropractors debunking myths in their field, and even a quantum physics PhD candidate whose life was completely changed by the Boston Marathon bombing. Every single one of these conversations started with an online message or connection, which is exactly the point.

Building Community Through Conversation

The podcast has been on a bit of a hiatus recently (running a cloud infrastructure company keeps you busy), but I'm committed to getting back to a monthly release schedule. Why? Because these conversations matter. In the tech industry, we spend so much time heads-down in our work that we forget to connect with the humans behind the screens. People of the Internet is my way of slowing down and learning from creative thinkers, technical professionals, and just plain interesting people doing things online.

Each episode is a deep dive into someone's journey, how they got where they are, what they're building, and what they've learned along the way. Sometimes it's technical, sometimes it's deeply personal, but it's always authentic.

Why Carpathian Is Sponsoring This

Now that we've formally launched Carpathian's sponsorship program, it made sense to put our money where our mission is. Our sponsorship program is designed to support technology innovation, open source development, educational initiatives, and community building in the tech space. This podcast fits squarely into that mission.

I'll be transparent here: yes, I'm the founder and CEO of Carpathian, and yes, Carpathian is sponsoring my podcast. But this isn't about self-promotion at all. It's about supporting content that aligns with our values of building community, fostering creative work in technology, and connecting people doing interesting things online. This sponsorship is tied to the podcast's mission, not to me personally. If I ever step away and someone else takes over hosting duties, the sponsorship continues as long as the podcast stays true to those values.

Carpathian's sponsorship program supports everything from open source software projects and technology conferences to educational initiatives and charitable causes. This podcast represents the human side of that mission where we document the stories of people building, creating, and innovating in the digital space.

What's Next

I'm planning to get back to monthly episodes and continue exploring the minds of fascinating people I connect with online. If you've got an interesting story about building something in tech, working on creative projects, or just doing cool stuff on the internet, I'd love to hear from you.
